This training is designed for those looking to learn more about their nervous system, have trauma or would like to find healing in their inner child. This is also great for yoga teachers, therapists, healers and meditation guides. Those looking for continuing education credits will have an opportunity to receive these. Through a blend of theoretical learning, expressive exploration, personal discovery and practical applications, we will learn how to support the integration of trauma expression when it arises. We will explore how we form our world view since childhood, and how attachment patterns impact our relationships as adults. Together, we will understand the physiological underpinnings of trauma, and use these to to help us stay regulated, present and empowered.
This unique training integrates principles from psychology, dance/movement therapy, drama therapy, somatic experiencing and yoga philosophy. Through compassionate and engaged activities, we will explore how to attend to the expression of trauma in the body, and how to facilitate self regulation for others, as well as for our own nervous systems. We will also identify our own nervous system’s defensive strategies, and explore how somatic activation impacts our capacity for effective relating and connection with others.
This training is for anyone wanting to explore an integrative somatic approach to trauma- informed living and a deeper understanding of their body’s expression of developmental and relational wounding and healing. As humans, it is essential that we relate to each to other with a basic understanding of our own developmental patterns, and of the silent language of the body. Trained in the expression of the nervous system, we can attend more fully and more compassionately to the bodies before us. We can also take care of ourselves and learn how our own unprocessed trauma shows up in relationship.
Each participant will lead a trauma-informed intervention at the end of the training, putting into practice all of the skills and body wisdom they’ve learned throughout the weekend. While this training introduces us to nervous system concepts, we will experience personal healing, expressive integration, and relational insights. We will learn and grow together from within, and know more about how we relate to the world.
This Certification Includes:
– Learning the principles and expressions of the nervous system
– Exploring developmental milestones in attachment and nervous system evolution
– How to hold space in the wisdom of the body, focusing on movements, sensations and impulse
– How to support the integration of trauma expression when it arises in relationship through self regulation and trauma-informed interventions
– Application of nervous system principles through a trauma-informed intervention
– A deeper, more compassionate understanding of why we sometimes feel stuck in unhelpful relational patterns
A certificate of completion will be given after the training and can count towards 14 Continuing
Education (CE) credits for Licensed Professional Counselors/Behavioral Health Executive
Council of Texas, 14 CE credits from the American Dance Therapy Association, and credits
toward Yoga Alliance’s Continuing Education.
Support continues after the training with a 60-minute group integration session via Zoom, to share how applications of the training are impacting our lives, work and relationships. We will also review and refresh any concepts that you may want to explore further. Space is limited so reserve your spot today!
