ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
This 1 1/2-hour experience led by teacher Michael Cruz will incorporate a blend of deep stretch, yin and restorative yoga, and sound bath meditation to explore fascial stretching in the physical body through different yoga postures, cultivate awareness in stillness, and allow active rest in a meditative sound bath with use of crystal bowls, gongs, and other sound instruments. Open to all levels.
Join meditation guide, yoga instructor and licensed doctor of physical therapy Michael Cruz for a special stretch and sound bath meditation class! In all life, a dynamic balance exists between yin and yang. The practice of yin yoga complements more movement-based yang practices (vinyasa, power yoga, running, lifting, etc.) to shift beyond pure muscular flexibility and get deeper into our fascial structures (ligaments, tendons, connective tissue) through the practice of staying in postures of stretching for prolonged amounts of time in stillness. In this class, the physical practice of deep stretch, yin, and restorative yoga will be done for 60-minutes followed by a 30-minute sound bath to guide you into a more mindfully meditative state.
Props will be provided for use in yoga postures, and instructions will be given on how to properly use props to support your practice. All levels of experience are welcome regardless of having practiced yoga before. Come balance the yin and yang within you and find a deeper connection to mind, body, and spirit.
