An Invitation to Rest: A Restorative Yoga Experience
Imagine being deeply rested. Picture your friends and loved ones, too, imagining them feeling deeply rested. How might you experience the world differently in a more rested state? This experience encourages you to rest. Rest is your birthright. Rest is also a radical act.
You are invited to join yoga and meditation teacher, Lexi Milam, in gently slowing down and experiencing collective rest through the deeply powerful practice of restorative yoga. Restorative yoga is a nurturing and nourishing meditative practice of surrendering and inviting the body to be supported and held by the layers of support from yoga props such as soft blankets, bolster pillows, yoga blocks, yoga straps, and cushioned yoga mats. You will experience a few supported yoga postures held over time that are designed to shift your nervous system into a parasympathetic state (allowing for resting and digesting) and be offered hands-on assistance to encourage deeper relaxation. Restorative yoga promotes stress reduction, improved sleep, improved well-being, and encourages the body’s ability to heal itself. It is an accessible and restful yoga practice available to all levels of yoga experience.
In this invitation to rest, we pause from doing and working to be and rest. Space is limited to 12 people.
